Tavi

I can't really remember how clever I as 13, I was pretty street smart no doubt but Tavi has to be a child prodigy right?

New Look

I really like Canadian 'future pop' band New Look. Myspace to listen. Sorry I will work stuff out one day and embed music but for now I too busy looking for warm clothes like these guys. Look out for an album early 2010.

Bright Eyes 1990's - 2002

Been meaning to get the Saddlecreek DVD for years finally got it the other day, really good, pretty inspiring. Just ask if you want to borrow it. This is the section dedicated to Bright Eyes. Who wants to start a band? I'm well bored of not being Conor Oberst

Bon Iver: A Take Away Show

I'm sure you have seen this, but just incase you haven't or you want to brighten a murky Friday, here you go. All the other parts and millions of other amazing films here

Jim Goldberg - Open See

the Jim Goldberg exhibition currently at the Photographers Gallery in London is one of my favourite photography exhibitions ever. It's basically a study around Europe of illegal immigrants, refugees, displaced people, and asylum seekers from Africa. It's not as grim as it sounds, I couldn't articulate why but it's not. He is also featured in this months FOAM magazine, which is an incredible magazine. If you go to the photographers gallery make sure you get a tuna sandwich, second to none.

Michael Hoppen Gallery London

Alex Prager
Weegee

I've never been to the Michael Hoppen Gallery as it's in gay old South West London, but it has two great exhibitions at the moment so I might leave the safety of my east london bubble for a few hours. Colour, a group show featuring Alex Prager, Tim Walker, Ofer Wolberger, Guy Bourdin and others. And the other exhibition is centered around Weegee, who i blogged about in my 3rd ever blogpost.

EDIT: this was a bit shit.

Sarah Kate

Lovely work, lots more here

Ellie Goulding

I've missed any Ellie hype and subsequently am a fan, Gareth aint buying it. I'm not saying she's amazing or anything it's not like when I heard Foundations for the first time, I just like a bit of youthful romantic melancholy. Wearing a 2007 american apparel huddy aint doing her any favours but we can see past that.

what do you guys think?

myspace (inc Bon Iver cover)

EDIT: ok it's been 2 weeks, now i hate her. Pretentious indie equilibrium restored.

Portraits Of Power

50 world leaders photographed for the New Yorker by Platon (fuck knows) inc Obama, Brown, Mugabe, and this dinkum. Includes audio commentary from Platon (still no idea) about each portrait, the brown story is pretty good.

No Distance Left To Run, Blur Documentary

One of my biggest regrets in life is befriending a quart of Jamesons on the sunday afternoon at Glastonbury 09 and subsequently passing out 2 songs into Blur's set, this documentary about their recent reformation might ease the pain a bit.

Black Snapper

Black Snapper is an amazing online magazine that presents a new photographer everyday, it has a different guest curated every week which makes it better and more varied, unlike things like flak photo which is good don't get me wrong. Today my boi Glen Erler is up for your judgement, you can go and rate each photographer, go on, rate him highly you'll feel good about it.

Paris Photo 09

Probably a bit late in the day to mention but Paris Photo is next Thursday till Sunday if you fancy it. Basically all the contemporary photography galleries in world take over the Louvre for 4 days, showing their photographers. It's amazing. Relatively cheap on the Eurostar and all that, you could just go for the day.

Do you remember when I just used to blog about rap? now it's photography, sorry about that. Wonder what it will be next...I'll probably get into Jazz one day...nah scratch that i fucking hate Jazz.
