Spike Spends Saturday with Shane Smith
I'm sure you all got this in the Vice mailout because they got all our email address by putting on a free crystal castles tour, but just in case you didn't, this is spike meeting the founder of Vice, it's nice to see Spike trotting about more than anything

Ellie Goulding
I've missed any Ellie hype and subsequently am a fan, Gareth aint buying it. I'm not saying she's amazing or anything it's not like when I heard Foundations for the first time, I just like a bit of youthful romantic melancholy. Wearing a 2007 american apparel huddy aint doing her any favours but we can see past that.
what do you guys think?

No Distance Left To Run, Blur Documentary
One of my biggest regrets in life is befriending a quart of Jamesons on the sunday afternoon at Glastonbury 09 and subsequently passing out 2 songs into Blur's set, this documentary about their recent reformation might ease the pain a bit.

Black Snapper
Black Snapper is an amazing online magazine that presents a new photographer everyday, it has a different guest curated every week which makes it better and more varied, unlike things like flak photo which is good don't get me wrong. Today my boi Glen Erler is up for your judgement, you can go and rate each photographer, go on, rate him highly you'll feel good about it.

Paris Photo 09
Probably a bit late in the day to mention but Paris Photo is next Thursday till Sunday if you fancy it. Basically all the contemporary photography galleries in world take over the Louvre for 4 days, showing their photographers. It's amazing. Relatively cheap on the Eurostar and all that, you could just go for the day.Do you remember when I just used to blog about rap? now it's photography, sorry about that. Wonder what it will be next...I'll probably get into Jazz one day...nah scratch that i fucking hate Jazz.

Laura Pannack
Laura has some brilliant work on her site. The blurbs for her stories are great too, you should read them.
The National Portrait Prize
Now showing at the National Gallery in central london till Feb 14th. Free and all that. Link here for more details and to look at all the pictures if indeed you don't live in London like my mum and dad and Javis Cocker.
Adam Patterson: Another Lost Child

Great photography story about people knife crime and shit here. Wouldn't mind having a pop at more social documentary photography one day, it's easy to get it wrong and make it boring and preachy I guess, but taking pictures of your mates next to a river in the sun might be seen as a bit trivial after a while...

Guy Garvey's Magic Hour
Old news to some but...Guy Garvey's 6music show on a Sunday night has to be one of the greatest things in the world. I am currently listening to it in my kitchen, lights low, curtains draw, and having a blissful time, he has played some lovely songs so far, including The National, Johnny Cash, and Grizzly Bear, but such things are almost superfluous when coupled with his confessional, witty, and often autobiographical mode of address. Listen again here if for some reason you don't sit by my blog and miss it live.PS. the Johnny Cash song he played was HEARTBREAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL and subsequently made the ever bourgeoning spotify playlist
Grizzly Bear "Ready, Able" video
Fricking amazing. Made by Allison Schulnik, yes the same Allison Schulnik I blogged mere weeks ago....coincidence??....yes.

Cait Fahey

I really love this work, so much so I bought the same camera as her on ebay (£11.70!!) it feels kinda wrong to do such a thing, like cheating or stealing or something but you know me I'll stop at nothing to be rich. Another point, ebay is good innit, first time I'd used it, you should have a look I think they have a website. Lots more work here.
